For local governments, as a way to support regional revitalization through ICT, we are developing projects to build organizations through public-private partnerships and develop human resources in municipalities nationwide, such as reducing CO2 emissions, and we are developing businesses that connect ICT and local communities with the vision of "solving social issues with ICT."

I feel that ICT will spread and contribute to various things such as industrial promotion, city promotion, health and welfare, and education. We believe that regional revitalization through ICT is a highly effective and necessary element for urban development. In order to promote regional revitalization through ICT, we provide one-stop support from organizational construction to human resource acquisition, development, and project implementation.

We are researching and developing next-generation economic management education models that integrate innovations brought about by the development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cognitive science.

There are three main research themes. The first is the accumulation and visualization of learning data, analysis, and analysis evaluation. The second is  interactive and descriptive learning process, represented by the case method, and AI-based optimization of the teaching method. Third, we are working to improve the quality and labor saving of existing operations with the support of AI, such as support for the evaluation of reports and entrance examination essays.

We have entered the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, in which IoT and AI drive business, and we are now in an era where the combination of complex elements such as hardware + software + network + service + data + AI will be the source of competitiveness. In order to respond to these changes, companies need to be design-driven (design is defined as "the activity of creating a business with a great customer experience by making full use of the three elements of business, technology, and creativity"), and rethink their business and create new businesses.

In this class, students will learn how to create new businesses that are design-driven, and how to think about the organizational design that supports them, drawing on the knowledge of Takram, a design innovation firm that enables companies and organizations to transcend limits and domains.

Technovate Thinking

In an era when rapid advances in computers have led to the realization of unimaginably large amounts of data and complex networks that are not subject to geographical restrictions, the conventional problem-solving process of "solving the amount of data that can be understood by humans by moving their own hands" is no longer applicable. In such an era, there is a need for business leaders who can conceive and execute their businesses with their own knowledge of evolving technologies, rather than "leaving everything to engineers because they don't know the technical stuff."

In this course, students will be able to solve problems in their own business by learning the "problem-solving method of the technovate era" in which computers perform large amounts of data and repetitive processing and humans perform logical design, while actually doing programming.

In addition, in this course, you will deepen your learning by acquiring and installing IDs for services and applications on the Web on your own PC, experiencing actual operations, and programming.

  • Technovate Strategy

  • The dramatic changes in recent years, led by digital technology, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, are about to drastically change people's lives and the way society works. In this shift, companies are being asked to review, redesign, and restructure the products and services they offer to their customers. This is because the center of value will become "information" due to change, and the value of the customer experience and the way it is provided will also change. This is because it means that the conventional "effective and efficient way of providing services by goods and people" does not necessarily work.

  • Under such circumstances, many companies and organizations have already started various initiatives advocating "digital transformation". However, most of them are based on existing business strategies, organizations, and management principles, and are only at the level of incorporating information technology. While they are necessary, they are not enough to keep up with major changes.

  • The purpose of this course is to cultivate the ability to understand the changes in the industrial structure and the principles of competition and economics in the "technovate" era, which are different from the conventional strategy formulas and ways of thinking, and to think about strategies in a changing environment.

  • Social Media Communication

  • The advent of social media has significantly changed the flow of information in society. The "word-of-mouth" that people send out on social media sometimes has more power than mass media, and it has an impact on business in terms of consumption behavior and reputation building. If it becomes a hot topic, it will gain recognition from the market and customers, but there is also a risk of flaming. Anonymous customer movements, starting from individuals, are difficult to capture with conventional marketing methods, and are difficult for corporate organizations to handle.

  • In this course, students will learn the theory and skills of communication that will lead to business, capturing the appearance of customers who use social media, which are reassuring if they are "allies" and terrifying entities that threaten even business survival if they are "enemies." The workshops developed for this course are hands-on communication training that involves making the right decisions while observing real-time customer reactions.

Education & Training

For Companies and Organizations

We provide workshop-based seminar training for companies and organizations. We support human resource strategies such as the development of "independent" managers and team building training.

feature

Creating an organization that nurtures "people"

In recent years, there has been a shortage of professionals who can play a role in medical care, and there is an urgent need to create a "good workplace" where professional staff can work with a sense of fulfillment and to control the turnover rate in the workplace.

In order to create a "good workplace," it is essential not only to invest in hardware (facilities, equipment, benefits, and salary system), but also to develop software (development of managers, development of professionals who work independently, and fostering of organizational culture).

By creating a place for dialogue, we will help solve problems in software and create an organization where professionals can grow.

substance

Develop foundational leadership skills

The strength of the Kalabari training is the non-technical skill development program. Non-technical skills are the foundations of practicing work, such as thinking, communication skills, and leadership.

The job of a leader/manager is more than expertise in a specialized field. Since the importance of "the ability to think, the ability to communicate with others, and the ability to move people" will increase more than expertise in the specialized field, the development of these skills is indispensable for the development of "management layers."

Through the "Play & Action" program, which is centered on active learning, Kalabari training can be implemented by management immediately in the field.

Design Thinking and Experiential Value

The role and positioning of design in management is becoming increasingly important as it changes from design and branding design, which is "Design 1.0," to human-centered design, which can be called "Design 2.0." In addition to designing businesses based on the value of the customer's experience, the use of design as an OS to realize strategies and the fostering of a culture that emphasizes design are also progressing. In this course, students will deepen their understanding of examples of innovation that will renew the value of the customer experience by utilizing technology from a human-centered perspective and demonstrating creativity through case-based discussions. In addition, on Day 1, students form a group and continue to work on projects for three months to learn about design thinking methods and how to apply them to business.

Business & Data Science

In contrast to the conventional business problem solving, in which humans solve the amount of data that can be understood by moving their own hands, "problem solving in the Technovate Era (Technovate Thinking Problem Solving)" is becoming more widespread, in which problem solving itself is individualized by using a large amount of data and algorithms, including recommendations. At the core of this algorithm is AI (≈ machine learning).

In this course, you will experience the flow of data processing and machine learning hands-on while actually operating a state-of-the-art machine learning automation tool (DataRobot) in order to make smart use of AI (machine learning). In the past, learning a programming language was essential to handle machine learning, and the hurdles were high.

With the introduction of DataRobot, our latest automation tool, we hope to take this hurdle to the extreme, giving more business leaders a first-hand experience of machine learning and paving the way for the use of machine learning and AI in their businesses.
