Economic Development in the Context of Globalization
As globalization progresses, the impact of one country's policies on others has become increasingly significant. Consequently, economic development in developing countries often needs to proceed while coordinating the interests of multiple nations. For example, promoting industrialization in developing countries may lead to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. In such cases, a cooperative approach that benefits all parties might be possible—such as through the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), where developed countries with emission reduction obligations support the introduction of low-emission technologies in developing countries. Through lectures and seminars in development economics, I hope to provide a space where we can all discuss and propose more desirable policies together.
