Consulting industry

The emergence of ChatGPT has the impact of dramatically shrinking the consulting industry to the size of the industry in the 1980s and 90s.
Since the value created by complex simple tasks and large amounts of information analysis plummets, "ultra-expensive workers" who can only do what the client tells them to do are likely to be weeded out as a whole.
During the period when AI is valued for efficient use, jobs such as "GPT operation consulting" may be created, albeit in the short term, and instantaneous profits may be generated.
However, in the end, AI such as GPT will bring about the theory that consultation is unnecessary as a "super-expensive worker" that is currently widespread.
On the other hand, the need for consultants who can come up with unique and discontinuous ideas that go beyond AI will increase, and the market value will soar.

Without fear of misunderstanding, I think the "former image of consulting with professional value and dignity" of the 80s and 90s will be revived.
In terms of differences from that time, it is necessary to have an attitude of working on solving problems on a more global and social scale, and the ability to design "AI governance" to coexist with AI.
The "unique power" created by modern individuals will be required, and due to the commitment to value creation, working hours will naturally increase. This is because professionals are obsessed with results. It's different from passive overtime.
